I’m really into trying new beauty products and I really want to improve the condition of my skin. A nice, healthy looking skin makes you look and feel so much better. But I was wondering if there are other, more natural ways to improve my skin. I found some interesting tips.
You probably already know this one, but I can’t say it enough. Water is the solution for basically everything. It’s not only good for your body, but it also helps to clear your skin and even to loose weight.
Drink green tea (cold)
“If your complexion is red or blotchy, this tea’s anti-inflammatory properties can be soothing,” says Andrea Cambio, a dermatologist in Cape Coral, Florida. “Iced is best because hot beverages can worsen redness and other symptoms of rosacea.” Another benefit: The epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in green tea may help prevent the collagen destruction that leads to wrinkles as well as sun-induced DNA damage in the skin (think lines and discoloration), according to some experts. Consider subbing tea for your morning mug of coffee.
Ensure a proper, nutritious diet. Eat lots of fruits, nuts, seeds, beans etc. Eating healthy, along with taking in the right vitamins and micro-nutrients can do wonders for your skin.
Exercise is always good for you. Not only for your body and soul, but also for you skin. While you exercise, your body is dumping all the dirt and toxic things out. You basically sweat all the crap that’s inside you out. What remains is a glowy, healthy looking skin. Don’t forget to wash your face afterwards, because sweat and dirt can clog your pores.
Lemon is one of the best ingredients that you can use to promote clear skin. The citric acid present in lemon helps keep the skin clear by removing dead cells, and its vitamin C content helps reduce dark spots by increasing the cell renewal process. Lemon also has bleaching properties that will help improve your overall skin complexion.
A couple months ago, I had never heard of turmeric before. I saw that chef’s use it in food, my former colleague drinks turmeric tea and now I read that turmeric is an excellent antiseptic and skin-lightening agent that helps minimize scars and other marks. Plus, turmeric can alleviate allergic, inflammatory and infectious skin disorders that make your skin look dull and lifeless.
Honey is antibacterial that helps the ward of infection. Not just for you throat if you are having a cold, but also for your skin. To enjoy clear skin, your need to keep your skin well moisturized. Honey is a great moisturizer and is antibacterial.
Aloe vera has many benefits for the skin. It has antibacterial properties that help kill bacteria that cause acne, anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritated skin, and astringent properties that help heal scars. Plus, aloe vera moisturizes the skin and stimulates new skin cell growth.
Cucumbers contain hydrating, nourishing and astringent properties that are very good for our skin. They can improve the overall appearance of your skin by repairing damaged skin cells, removing dead skin cells and adding a fresh glow.
Not only can you drink and eat all the ingrediënts above, you can also put in your face. Make a water bath (not too cold, not too hot), let the ingrediënt soak in it for a while and use the water to clear your skin. You can also make a ‘mask’ by laying slices of lemon (or the other ingrediënts from above) on your skin for a while. Also very meditating.
