I went to Mr. Stacks in Amsterdam. Is it really worth the hype?
About Mr. Stacks
Mr. Stacks is a new super hip place which became kind off a hype lately. They serve special tea’s, iced tea’s and pancakes.
It’s fully packed when me and my friend Hanna walk in during lunch time (around 14:00 h). Luckily, there’s still a table left. The place looks cool, colourfull and young. Very hip. The staff speaks English and is friendly, even though it takes a little while for them to take our order.
I order the Mango and Exotic Fruits Iced Tea and the Classic Stack. The iced tea tastes great, a little sweet and very fresh. Hanna orders the Miami Vice iced tea, which is a lot sweeter. I like mine better. The presentation is wonderfull.
Then the pancakes, which again, takes quite a while for them to serve, but once it arrives, it’s worth the wait. The classic stack consists of three american style pancakes with banana, seasonal fruits, date syrup, pistacchio nuts and raspberry sauce. It’s topped of with sesame cotton candy. Again, presentation is flawless, very well made for the gram. And it tastes amazing. I wasn’t sure about the cotton candy, but also that tastes really good. Everything is freshly made and you can really taste that. It’s quite a lot, the stack, so make sure you’re hungry. So is Mr. Stack worth the hype? Yes it is. It’s fun, it’s new, it’s fresh, it’s hip, it’s delicious.
